■  설립목적

탈북민협회는 미국에 정착한 탈북민들의 어려움과 삶의 고충 해결에 맞춘 실질적 프로그램들을 만들어 이들에 대한 사회정착 안정을 지원하며 미주탈북민협회에 대한 지역 사회와의 소통과 인식 개선을 위한 사회봉사와 한인 단체들과의 협력 행사를 통한 지역사회 와의 친목과 화합을 조성한다.

■ 비전

1. 탈북민들의 미국 사회 정착에 절실히 필요한 지원이 무엇인지에 대한 구체적인조사를 실시하고 그에 맞는 프로그램과 실행 대책을 세운다.

2. 한인 지역 사회에서 탈북민에 대한 인식 개선을 위한 여러가지 형태의 봉사활동이나 커뮤니티를 위한 다양한 프로그램을 계획하고 실천하여 이를 통한 지역 한인과의 친밀감과 정서적 유대를 확장 시킨다.

사회정착 안정 지원을 위한 자금 확보는 우선 미국에 먼저 와서 정착하여 자리를 잡은 탈북민 선배들의 마음에 호소하여 후배들을 위한 자발적인 지원을 이끌어내며 또한 한인 지역 사회의 여러 기관이나 단체들과의 협력이나 면담을 통하여 후원이나 기부를 이끌어 낸다.

남한에 고향을 둔 한인들에게 북한의 토속음식을 직접 만들어 맛보게 하여 한인들과의 친근감에 한발짝 더 깊이 다가갈수 있게 한다.

■ Purpose of Establishment

The North Korean Refugee Association creates practical programs tailored to resolving the difficulties and hardships of North Korean defectors who have settled in the United States, supports their social settlement stability, and fosters friendship and harmony with the local community through social services and cooperative events with Korean organizations to improve communication and awareness of the North Korean Defectors Association in the United States.

■ Vision

1. Conduct a detailed survey on what kind of support is urgently needed for North Korean defectors to settle into U.S. society, and establish appropriate programs and implementation measures.

2. Plan and implement various types of volunteer activities and programs for the community to raise awareness of North Korean defectors in the Korean community, thereby expanding the intimacy and emotional bond with the local Korean community.

Securing funds to support stable social settlement first appeals to the hearts of senior North Korean defectors who came to the U.S. and settled down and settled down, eliciting voluntary support for the juniors, and also eliciting sponsorship or donations through cooperation or interviews with various organizations and organizations in the Korean community.

By allowing Koreans living in South Korea to make and taste North Korea’s indigenous food, they can take a step closer to the familiarity with the Korean people.
